The local elections are looming and candidates for the District Council are starting to put their credentials forward. I do hope that the new Photo ID rules are fully understood by the electorate. Voting numbers at local elections are normally low and it would be a great shame if they were compromised even further because people were unaware of the Photo ID requirements.

The Coronation of King Charles III takes place on Saturday 6th May and the whole country is gearing up for it with celebrations and street parties planned. Fingers crossed for good weather!

To mark the occasion, Buntingford Town Council have organised an outdoor Family Funday on the following day - Sunday 7th May - and everyone is invited!

The event is taking place at the Seth Ward Community Centre, Luynes Rise, from 2pm and it will close with a laser light show at around 10pm.

Entry to the event is FREE and highlights of the day include:-

  • Live bands from 2 to 10pm
  • Licensed bar
  • Food outlets
  • Free Kiddies Funfair rides
  • Face painting
  • Kidddies fancy dress competition
  • Laser light show finale

Please make sure you come along to join in with the festivities. A tremendous amount of effort has been put in by the organising committee so let's make sure their efforts are recognised with a good turnout and that everyone has a fun day.
