Prizes for the Buntingford in Bloom competition were awarded at the Annual Buntingford gardeners Club show held in the URC Church hall on 4 September. Civic Society Chair Graham Bonner presented vouchers to Front garden winner Glynis Jaycock and Rear garden winner Rose Austin. The recent car show reminded me what a thriving inclusive community we have in Buntingford. Just looking through the journal highlights the myriad of clubs and societies we are lucky enough to have at our disposal - only kept going by the help and dedication of the many people who give freely of their time. To all of you I say thanks and keep up the good work. Autumn is now upon us and another Summer fades into a distant memory! All of a sudden my inbox seems to be full of invites and information for Christmas events. I am afraid I find this quite depressing and I am not quite sure where this year went! The ground works for the new cemetery along the Causeway are progressing nicely. I visited recently and had a meeting with the project managers. I think it fair to say that when completed the cemetery will be an outstanding and much needed addition to our Town I have mentioned before that I believe our Town is starting to look a little 'care worn'. It really could do with a makeover - a couple of photographs illustrate what I mean. Maybe just little things but these and others all add up to create a slightly run down appearance. If readers have any other photographic evidences please email to me - I will see if I can start some sort of campaign.
