As some of you may be aware, an application to build a further 400 dwellings on land off Luynes Rise to the west of Buntingford is being considered by DLP Planning. This is virtually the same application that was submitted in 2017 and ultimately rejected by EHDC Planning Dept. The reasons for rejection were:-
Buntingford Town Council have queried with EHDC whether these reasons would apply to any new application. EHDC have confirmed that they would. On the face of it this would seem to be good news but we will have to wait and see what transpires. One would hope that this information is relayed to DLP Planning and they call off any plans for this totally unwanted and unnecessary development. Good to see the work being undertaken by gardener Alex Jones in Layston Court Gardens. The gardens are a haven of peace and quiet in the middle of our busy town and Alex is constantly looking at ways to enhance and improve. Keep up the good work Alex. Having been struck by 'the lurgy' (not Covid) I was unable to attend the Civic Society AGM on 5th April so my thanks to Graham Waite for deputising. I believe there were some interesting discussions on a variety of topics. Thanks to all those who attended.
